    Hi Jeff,

     Thank you for the great service last week and sorry it took a few days to respond. Both you and the two mechanics working last monday were great. As you might recall, I was passing through (from way out of town) and slid off the road in a sudden snow storm up the mountain. I was obviously concerned that I might be "taken advantage of" as an out of state traveler who needed my car repaired in order to get home. 

    On the contrary- you guys really genuinely seemed to care and helped me get back on the road safely (without costing an arm and a leg). I feel like I couldn't get better service in my own hometown and just wanted to say thanks again!

    I called Elite Auto Service in Oakhurst and asked the owner if he could check out where my oil leak was coming from so I would know if it was covered under my warranty. I also inquired if there would be a charge to do that. His immediate and defensive response: If you want ME...to fix YOUR problem...then you have to pay for it. My mechanics don't work for free. I have to pay them. 

    I hung up. Not because I would have to pay for the estimate, but because Mike obviously has so many customers that he could care less how he talks to people. File this under how to lose a customer in under sixty seconds. 

    So, I took my car to Tom's RE instead and asked the same question. On the spot (and for no charge) the owner had a mechanic come over and look at the car. The mechanic then added dye to trace the problem, and asked me to come back two days later to identify where the leak is most likely coming from, which I did. They are now doing the repairs and Tom's has a new loyal customer. :)
